Time 2 get ready for the holidays!
As I joked earlier – once Labor Day hits, the rest of the year is over! I did say it in jest but it’s kind of true – it’s already mid-October and Halloween is just 10 days away! Where did the time go?
As a crafter I need to get ready for the holidays way in advance! My Halloween and Thanksgiving cards were done my mid-September so now my focus is on all things Christmas! That’s why this week my focus was on all things gift cards!
If you are a member of my Crafty Stampers VIP group on Facebook (join here) than you know I kicked off the week by making the gift card from the prior week’s tutorial. On Tuesday I continued the fun with a modified book binder/gate fold card that had a pocket for a gift card. Last night I made 2 more gift card holders during my Thursday Live Demo on my Crafty Klock YouTube channel,
Love them or hate them, gift cards are often the only gift for some of those hard to shop for folks on your gift list. As my Dad would say (granted it was cash/check back in his day) gift cards are always “right size/right color” meaning the recipient was able to choose what they really wanted rather then getting “stuck” with a gift they would either never use or need to return.
A unique holder makes the gift fun
So while some might consider gift cards impersonal, you can up the “WOW” factor with a fun and fancy holder! Here’s the 2 from last night’s demo – what do you think?

The card on the bottom is a simple stamping card made with just stamps, ink, and paper. It’s made from our beautiful A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper, which is this year’s Making a Difference product. That means with every purchase of this paper, Stampin’ Up! with donate $3 to support organizations dedicated wot spreading cheer and providing support to those in need in each market (North America, Europe, South Pacific).
The card on top features products from the Beary Christmas Suite and is a slider gift card holder. The polar bear slides from right to left as you pull out the gift card. Don’t you just love interactive cards? I sure do. This was such a fun card to make. I really hope you like it too. If you missed the live demonstration you can always catch the replay on my Crafty Klock YouTube channel.
