Celebrating Sale-a-bration – a great time for freebies!

It’s Sale-a-bration time!

I love January! After the rush of the holidays it’s nice to sit back, relax, and Sale-a-brate! What is Sale-a-bration (or SAB as we affectionally refer to it) you may ask? That’s a great question. Let me tell you all about it!

Every January Stampin’ Up! holds its biggest promotion of the year – Sale-a-bration! For every $50 purchase you can select one free item. Who doesn’t love free? The rewards are cumulative and there is no limit to the number of free items you can receive.

Sale-a-bration offers two levels of rewards – Level 1 which is free with a $50 purchase and Level 2 which is free with a $100 dollar purchase. Having just placed a big order for my February Stamping Bingo event I was able to get several of these free items.

Once I had all these fantastic new items in hand I couldn’t wait to use them for projects. So yesterday I grabbed some of these items and did a video for my Crafty Klock YouTube channel. Here’s the items I used for my cards this week – from Level 1 products I used Opaque Faceted Gems and Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper. From the Level 2 products I used the Softly Sophisticated Bundle (which features a stamp set and embossing folder).

Unsual color combos that work well together

Once I knew what products I wanted to work with I had to come up with the designs. The Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper has, what I consider to be, an eclectic assortment of colors but I was determined to find colors that would work well together. Imagine my suprise when I teamed Wild Wheat with Lost Lagoon and Pebbled Path with Calpyso Coral.

Never, ever, would I have put these colors together and yet once I did, I absolutely loved the result. Take a look and let me know what you think. Do you like the way these color work together?
