Gift Card Holders – perfect any time
I joked the other day that once Labor Day hits the year is basically over. While I may have said it was a joke it’s kind of true. It seems that once September hits, the rest of year just flies by – I mean it’s already mid-October! How and when did that even happen?
As I look at the calendar I see dates looming closer and closer – craft fairs, birthdays, holidays, – eek! So much to get ready for! That’s why my focus this week is on gift card holders. These beauties will be in high demand at my upcoming craft fairs. I always well out of them. So while I have many holiday themed gift card holders I also make ones for birthdays, anniversaries, thank yous, and more.
Last week in my Crafty Stampers VIP Group on Facebook I posted a tutorial for a pretty little gift card holder (I post free tutorials every week so if you’re not in my group you are missing out! Click here to join.) On Sunday, I went live in the group to put the gift card holder together so everyone could see how easy it was to make. I did one for Christmas and another one for birthdays. Once you have the general concept of the design down all you need to do is change out the paper for different occasions.
Here are the ones I made based on the tutorial I shared in my Crafty Stampers VIP Group on Facebook. They were easy to make and look so pretty. Just by changing out the Designer Series Paper and stamp set we’ve gone from Christmas to birthday!

Today for my Lesson@Lunch I took the classic book binder fun fold and created a modified gatefold book binder gift card holder. The “secret” is to only seal the top and bottom edges of the book binder fold. Doing that will create a pocket to slide in the gift card. The overall size of the finished card is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ so it will fit into a standard A2 size envelope.

You can watch the video here:
To make this card here is what you will need:
- Cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″; scored on the 11″ side at 1 1/4″ 6 1/2″ and 7 3/4″
- Designer Series Paper – 3 pieces at 1″ x 4″ and 2 pieces at 3″ x 4″
- Basic White 5″ x 4″
- Scraps for die cuts
I used the Shining Christmas Designer Series Paper (an on-line exclusive) and the Christmas Classics bundle to create this gift card holder. You can purchase all these items and more on my Stampin’ Up! store. Just click here to shop.
