Notecards – Perfect for Beginners

I’ve got to be honest with you – I’ve never really been a fan of Stampin’ Up!’s notecards – nothing personal against them – it’s just the smaller size doesn’t appeal to me. That being said I do realize there is a time and place for everything, even the much maligned notecards.

So while many avid papercrafters may not be fans, these notecards are perfect for beginning stampers! These notecards come in packs of 20 with envelopes encluded which make them a good investment for someone new to papercrafting and cardmaking.

Quick, Easy, Fun

Today for my Lesson@Lunch video on my Crafty Klock YouTube channel, I used these notecards to demonstrate how to create simple, yet pretty cards in minutes with minimal supplies. Using the notecards, some ink, and blending brushes, I created cards that have just a pop of color to add some interest.

It was so easy to add the color. I made a mask with some scrap paper I had laying around my craft studio. I used the 2 3/8″ circle punch to make my mask but you could use any shape you desire. I also layered on two colors – Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist but again, you can just add one color if you don’t have alot of options.

You can see how easy it is to add a pop of color with a mask.

I hope you’ll try adding some color with blending brushes. It’s easy and fun and you can use this technique on full size (A2) cards also – it’s not just for notecards! You can purchase blending brushes as well as notecards, inks, and more from my Stampin’ Up! Store. Just click the button below to get started. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!
