Easy cards with that WOW factor

There are all types of crafters and cardmakers out there. Some love to create beautifully intricate designs with lots of layers, die cuts, and embellishments. Some love to add lots of color and patterns creating cards that are splashy and fantastical. Me – I’m a lazy crafter!

I love to make cards that look difficult yet are really very easy to do and don’t take alot of time. That’s why I LOVE fun folds (also known as fancy folds) – they just seem to have that WOW factor! Some truly are very easy and perfect for beginner stampers, like the one below. Just a few straight cuts on the paper trimmer and you have a fun fold!

Others are a bit more difficult and may require the use of die cuts, additional score lines and more. This one isn’t exceptionally difficult but it does require the use of the layering circle dies as well as a second piece of cardstock cut to a smaller size and scored at different dimensions. Not hard at all but just a little bit more work involved to create that WOW.

Fun Folds are Easy!

Some crafters are intimidated by fun folds but there is no reason to be. Just jump in and give one a try. If you make a mistake, no big deal – it’s just paper so just grab a new piece and try again. If you want to learn fun folds there is a wealth of knowledge just waiting for you in the internet.

YouTube is a great place to start. I’ve got several fun fold tutorials on my Crafty Klock YouTube channel (and I’d love it if you would subscribe!). Here’s the latest one I did last week, featuring the cards shown above. Let me know what you think!
