Welcome to the Global Sweethearts April Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Global Sweethearts April Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators located around the world who love to share our passion for creating with Stamps, Inks, & Paper (or S I P!)

A Quick & Easy Masculine Card with S I P

Like many card makers, I too struggle with making masculine cards. I love to add layers and embellishments, fancy folds, and more. This past week I was teaching an into to cardmaking class at a local community center and I wanted a quick and easy masculine card to balance out the more frilly cards I had designed.

Looking through my stash of stamp sets, I pulled out the Let’s Set Sail stamp set and sailboat builder punch. I thought those would be perfect for a quick and easy masculine card using S-I-P; you know – Stamps, Ink, Paper – S-I-P!

Here’s the final design. I did use the sailboat builder punch to create the sails but other than that, it’s just stamps, inks, and paper. Quick and easy and best of all the participants loved it!

Measurements

For this card, I used the (soon to be) retired Pacific Point cardstock, which is now sold out, but you could substitute any blue color cardstock and still get the same effect. I did use three colors of ink, Pacific Point, Soft Suede, and Coastal Cabana.

It only took three pieces of cardstock and one scrap of Designer Series Paper for the sails. For the card base I used Pacific Point cut to 11″ x 4 1/4″‘ scored at 5 1/2″. I used two pieces of Basic White, one for the inside and one for the outside, cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. The sails were punched from the Flowers & More Designer Series Paper, a host only itme from the January – April Mini Catalog.
