Live @ Lunch – my new YouTube Series

So it’s been a hot minute since I have been on here. Sometimes life just gets in the way of the best laid plans. But not to worry – I have been busy crafting away in my studio – making cards and gifts, doing my weekly Facebook Lives on Thursdays at 7:30 pm and my latest endeavor – Tuesday’s LIVE @ LUNCH series. I wanted to develop a quick little series for my main Facebook page in an attempt to increase my audience and gain some exposure. Since the pandemic it’s been hard to find new customers and share my passion with others so I am trying all kinds of new ways to showcase what I love. I’m not sure it’s working and I’m still a bit of a hot mess when it comes to live demos but I’m trying and I guess that’s all we can do.

Today’s Live @ Lunch featured a sweet and simple treat holder I (sort of) CASEd (which means Copy And Share Everything) from the supremely talented Ronda Wade. I changed the dimensions a bit as I had a lot of 6″ x 6″ paper to use but I am happy with how it turned out. Check it out.

To make this treat holder you’ll need a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper, either Designer Series Paper or card stock, some ribbon, your paper trimmer and paper snips, hole punch and of course some candy or other treats! Embellish as you desire and spread a little joy by sharing with others! You can always shop my store for any supplies you need. Just click here!

Be sure to sign up for my mailing list so you can stay informed about my up coming classes and events! https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/P5HxFUg/craftychatter

How to create beautiful cards with Hydrangea Haven

As soon as I saw the lovely Hydrangea Hill Suite in the new January – June mini catalog I was transported back to my childhood. My maternal grandmother had a reputation gardening, whether it was vegetables or flowers, and our yard was always blooming with something. Gorgeous azalea bushes framing the front of the house; pink and red roses adding their fragrance to the back yard, and beautiful blue and pink hydrangea bushes lining the sidewalk on the side of the house.

The new Hydrangea Hill Suite is one you will most definitely want to add to your collection. The colors work so beautifully together and set you up for success right out of the box. Check out my YouTube video and see how easy it is to create with the products in this suite.

The new Hydrangea Hill Suite from Stampin’ Up!

These products will be available beginning on January 5th! You can check out my store for more info and to place an order. Click here. I’m also featuring this suite in my February Stampin’ Bingo class! This is a fun event where we make four projects and play some old fashioned bingo for fun! It’s always a good time and lots of laughs! You can register here.

You’ll love the easy yet impressive IMPOSSIBLE CARD!

I’ve always been crafty. As a youngster I loved to color; as a I grew older I tried my hand at different crafts – knitting, sewing, crocheting, photography, cake decorating, painting. You name it and I’ve probably at least tried it once! Some I’ve liked more than others and some were just not my strong suit – knitting – not for me – can’t coordinate two needles at once; quilting – meh too much detail work. But creativity fills my soul and I love to try new things.

About 20 years ago I got introduced to Stampin’ Up! I loved the pretty stamps, ink, and paper and I was hooked. I loved this new hobby – it fed my creative side in a fun, new way. Now, life has a way of getting in the way and as a mom of two young children with a full time job outside the home, the opportunity to spend precious time and money on my “hobby” was limited. I never gave it up exactly but I did put it on the back burner for a few decades.

So fast forward to today and I’m an (almost) empty nester with time and money to finally spend on me! So when the opportunity to join Stampin’ Up! was presented and jumped in and signed up. I absolutely LOVE creating with my stamps, ink, and paper. It feeds my creative soul and it give me such joy to turn a simple piece of paper into a work of art. Best of all, I get to share my passion with all of you! So today I want to share my take on the “Impossible Card”. I’m not really sure why it’s called that but my guess is the way you cut and fold the card seems impossible to do!

Impossible Card

The card is actually quite easy to make – just a few score lines and some snips with your scissor, a flip of the paper and Viola – the Impossible Card. Check out my YouTube Tutorial below and be sure to join my Crafty Stampers VIP Group on Facebook to get the FREE PDF tutorial. You can order the tools used to make this card here. Happy Stampin’.

You’ll love this sneak peek at the new Curvy Celebrations!

I don’t know about you, but growing up birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and just about any special occasion was a big deal. These events would bring the whole family together to celebrate and they were always filled with lots of laughter, good food, and above all love! My mom always went out of her way to make these celebrations special. I know I get my love of creating special gifts and cards for my family and friends from her.

I don’t know why but the new Quite Curvy Bundle just reminds me of my mom and all the special times we had together. Maybe it’s because the curvy dies make me think of how she loved to sew and could create beautiful clothes for the children and grandchildren in the blink of an eye (and lots of late nights). It might be because of the whimsical trees in the Curvy Christmas stamp set but most likely it’s because she really was “One in a Million” as the sentiment from the Quite Curvy stamp set says. No matter the reason, this bundle just brings joy to my heart and so many fond memories of celebrations with my Mom. Take a look and I’m sure you will find it makes you smile too.

The card on the right is a great example of #simplestamping – just stamps ink and paper. Card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. Layers get consecutively 1/4″ smaller – so Designer Series paper is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the top layer is 5″ x 3 3/4″. Measurements are the same for the pink birthday card with the exception of the top white layer, which is the same width as the green layer it sits on but only 3 1/4″ high before being cut with the curvy dies.
