I just love making my own Christmas cards. It allows me to create unique greetings for my family and friends to let them know special they are to me. And when I saw the lovely Peace to You stamp set in the July – December Mini catalog I knew I would be using it for my cards this year. I just loved the clean and simple images and sentiments. I knew this set would be perfect just as it was but could also be stepped up with some embellishments.

Simple and Elegant

The images in Peace to You are absolutely perfect for simple stamping. With these stamps and some ink and paper you are able to create beautiful cards in just a few minutes. Here’s the first card I made with this lovely set. I love the simplicity of blue and white and kept it simple with just some straight cuts on the paper trimmer.

I just love the clean lines and the overall simpilcity of the card – this is definately someting a beginning stamper could do. The card base is Night of Navy 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. The next layer is Basic White 4″ x 5 1/4″ and stamped in Night of Navy ink. Simple and easy – you could make a dozen of these in just a few hours especially when you use the stamparatus – you can stamp the image and sentiment at the same time!

Stepping up Simple

If you are a more experienced crafter, you can take this basic design and step it up by adding more layers and a punched label for the sentiment. The Snowflake Speciality Vellum adds just a bit of sparkle to the card giving it a whole new look.

This card uses the same general idea as the #simplestamping card but I’ve added a layer of the Snowflake Specility Vellum (cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″) to add a bit of sparkle to the card. Labels were punched with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and the church image was cut and mounted on Starry Sky card stock.

From Simple to Wow

For avid crafters who have the time and tools for heat embossing, the images from Peace to You are perfect for this technique. For this card, I stamped the image of the Holy Family with VersaMark and heat embossed it with basic black embossing powder. Next I used watercolor pencils and blender pens to add a pop of color.

The cardbase is the standard A2 with a layer of Basic Black (4″ x 5 1/4″) and a layer of the flocked Snowflake Speciality Vellum (3 3/4″ x 5″). The image of the Holy Family is mounted on a piece of Basic Black cardstock.
