As World Watercoloring Month draws to a close, I wanted to take a look at a different way to watercolor. The Watercolor Shapes stamp set by Stampin’ Up! is an easy and mess free way to create colorful faux watercolor backgrounds. And since we are using a non-traditional way of watercoloring I decided to create a non-traditional Christmas card to celebrate Christmas in July!

Watercolor Shapes

The circles from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set add a fun pop of color in shades of red (Sweet Sorbet) and green (Parakeet Party) with a splash of blue (Pool Party) to keep it interesting. I’ve paired it with sentiments from the new Hope and Peace stamp set and added a few Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins to create a very non-traditional Christmas card. You can catch the tutorial on my Crafty Klock YouTube channel.

The measurements for this card are very simple. Card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″; scored at 4 1/4″. First layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and second layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″. On the inside I added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White. Here’s a list of all the supplies I used to make this card.
