In every catalog there are always some items I consider “hidden gems” – those items that don’t catch your attention right away but when you do finally notice them – WOW! If you haven’t seen the Snowflake Speciality Vellum in the July – December Mini catalog you are missing out!
Now to be sure I missed this item the first few times I went through the catalog – it’s not part of any suite so it’s pretty easy to pass right by it. When I finally stopped and really took a look at it my first thought was Oh – I need to get that – it looks really pretty. So I ordered it and when it finally came it was even prettier in person! I couldn’t wait to create pretty cards with it. The package comes with six sheets – two each of three designs. Each design comes in an iridescent sheet and a flocked sheet, which increases the versatility of the paper.
I featured this paper during my Thursday Night Live Demonstration. I made two cards showcasing the Snowflake Specialty Vellum and the lovely Peace to You stamp set (featured on pages 40 & 41 in the July to December Mini Catalog). Here are the cards I made.

Both card use a card base of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″; scored at 4 1/4″. The first layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the vellum measures 3 3/4″ x 5″. For the Blessed Family card the white cardstock measures 2 1/4″ x 3 3/4″ and the black cardstock measures 2 1/2″ x 4″. For the Church card the white piece measures 3″ x 3″ and the Starry Sky piece measures 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″. The sentiment label uses white cardstock measuring 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ (some will be removed by punch) and Starry Sky cardstock measuring 3/4″ x 3″ (agian some will be removed by punch).
