Sometimes it’s the little things that make someone smile—and the new Box of Joy Bundle from Stampin’ Up!® is designed for exactly that!
The Box of Joy Bundle will be available beginning September 1, and I couldn’t resist giving you a sneak peek. This bundle creates the cutest little treat or gift box that can be dressed up for just about any occasion.
And when I say little, I mean just the right size for a couple of chocolates, a small gift or one of those “I was thinking about you” surprises that don’t need a special occasion.
Meet the Box of Joy Bundle
The Box of Joy Bundle includes the stamp set and a coordinating set of 15 dies.
The star of the show is, of course, the die that creates the box itself. You’ll need to cut two pieces to create one complete box, but once you understand how those pieces fit together, assembly is pretty simple.
I’ll admit it: my first one was NOT pretty.
There may have been some muttering involved.
But after I figured out how the two pieces connected and where those little tabs needed to go, it all made sense. By the next box I was thinking, “Oh! This really IS easy!”
In addition to the box die, the set includes three different label dies plus lots of little decorative pieces. You’ll find candles and flames, hearts, a gift, wrapped candy, a star, a bow and some fun accent pieces.
That gives you plenty of ways to change the look of your box without needing a ton of additional supplies.
Two Completely Different Looks
For the first box, I used the gorgeous Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper.
This paper has so much sparkle and shine on its own that I didn’t think the box needed much embellishment. I simply added the die-cut bow to the front and called it done.
Sometimes less really IS more.
Now, I will warn you about something I discovered while making this one. That beautiful shimmery finish can make the paper a little stubborn when it comes to adhesive. You’ll see me wrestle with it a bit in the video!
If you use a specialty paper like this, make sure you use a good, strong adhesive and give it a little time and pressure to grab.
For my second version, I went in a completely different direction and used cardstock along with Designer Series Paper.
I also added one of the die-cut labels with the sentiment “You deserve a little treat” and finished it with one of the tiny die-cut hearts.
Same Box of Joy Bundle. Same basic box. Completely different look.
And THAT is what I love about dies like this.

So Many Ways to Use This Little Box
While the name Box of Joy might immediately make you think about Christmas, I definitely wouldn’t limit this one to the holidays.
Change the colors and paper and you could use these for Halloween treats or Thanksgiving table favors. Make them in pretty spring colors for Easter. Use them for birthday party favors, teacher gifts, coworker treats or even a tiny piece of jewelry.
And, of course, there’s always chocolate.
A couple of Lindor truffles or Ferrero Rocher chocolates would fit nicely inside—and I’m pretty sure nobody has ever complained about receiving a handmade box filled with chocolate!
I could also see making several of these at one time assembly-line style. Pick a few coordinating papers, cut all your pieces and then sit down and assemble them. You’d have a stash of little treat boxes ready whenever you need a quick gift.
It Really Is the Thought That Counts
When I was still working, I liked giving my team members little treats around the holidays. Nothing huge or elaborate—just something that said I was thinking about them.
And that’s exactly what these little boxes remind me of.
A small handmade gift doesn’t have to be expensive to make someone feel special. The fact that you took the time to create it, fill it and give it to them is what matters.
That’s one of my favorite things about paper crafting. We get to take paper, ink and a few supplies and turn them into something that can brighten somebody else’s day.
Pretty darn cool when you think about it.
