If you’ve ever admired those gorgeous metallic accents on handmade cards and wondered how they’re created, you’re going to love today’s project. The new Stampin’ Up!®Hot Foil System makes it easier than ever to add elegant gold, silver, and colored foil to your cards—and the results truly are metallic magic.
I’ve been waiting to share this with you ever since we first saw it at OnStage back in March. We had to keep it under wraps until now, and let me tell you…it has been worth the wait!
Rather than simply showing you what’s in the box, I wanted to put the Hot Foil System to work. In today’s video, I’ll walk you through the entire process—from setting up the platform and creating the correct sandwich to sharing tips that will help you achieve beautiful foiled results on your very first try. I’ll also show you four different card ideas that demonstrate just how versatile this new system can be.
The best part? You’ll be able to order the Stampin’ Up!®Hot Foil System beginning tomorrow, July 10, 2026. If you’ve been waiting for a foiling system designed specifically forStampin’ Up!®products, your wait is almost over!

Whether you’re considering purchasing the Hot Foil System or simply want to see it in action before making a decision, this video will show you exactly how it works from start to finish.
What’s Included in the New Hot Foil System?
The Stampin’ Up!®Hot Foil System comes with everything you need to begin creating beautiful foiled projects:
- Stampin’ Hot Foil Platform
- Stampin’ Hot Foil Shim & Spacer
- Stampin’ Hot Foil Magnetic Pick-Up Tool
- Silicone Platform Station
- Silicone Cooling Pad
- Power Cord
The system is designed to work with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, using specially designed Hot Foil Plates to transfer beautiful metallic foil onto cardstock.
One of the biggest tips I can share—and one that makes a huge difference—is this:
Run the platform through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine slowly.
It may feel painfully slow, but giving the heated plate extra time under pressure produces crisp, clean foiled images every time. Trust me—it’s worth the extra few seconds.
Create a Little Metallic Magic
One of the things that surprised me most was just how versatile the Hot Foil System really is. It’s much more than a way to create pretty backgrounds.
With this system you can:
- Create elegant full-panel backgrounds
- Foil beautiful sentiments
- Add metallic details to intricate floral and butterfly images
- Stamp an image first, then foil directly over it for extra dimension
- Use the negative foil from one project to create an entirely different card
I absolutely love getting the most from my crafting supplies, so discovering a creative way to use the leftover foil might have been one of my favorite surprises.
Four Ways to Create Metallic Magic
For today’s projects I wanted to showcase several different techniques using the Hot Foil System.
You’ll see:
- Beautiful butterflies that were foiled first, colored with the coordinating masks, and then die cut
- A full foiled floral background paired with an elegant foiled sentiment
- A card created using the leftover negative foil from another project
- A stamped image enhanced by foiling directly over the stamped design
Each card has a completely different look while using the same Hot Foil System. That’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about this new addition to the Stampin’ Up! product line—it offers so many creative possibilities.
Free Metallic Magic Craft Class
When you purchase the Stampin’ Up!® Hot Foil System by January 4, you’ll also receive access to the Metallic Magic Craft Class—a $30 value at no additional cost.
The class showcases several of the new Hot Foil products and is a great way to explore what the Hot Foil System can do.
To complete the projects, you’ll need:
- Silver & Gold Hot Foil Rolls
- Botanical Glow Bundle
- Butterfly Flight Bundle
- Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies
If you’re planning to invest in the Hot Foil System, this class is a wonderful way to learn new techniques while creating beautiful projects.
A Few Helpful Tips
Here are a few tips that will help you get the best results:
- Foil multiple sentiments at one time to make the best use of your foil and cardstock.
- Place the foil shiny side down over the heated Hot Foil die
- Allow the platform to fully heat before beginning each project.
- Color the Butterfly Flight images after foiling but before die cutting for the cleanest finish.
- Save your leftover foil pieces—they’re perfect for creating unique background panels.
- Most importantly…run the platform through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine slowly for the crispest foiled impressions.
These simple tips will help you get beautiful results right from your very first project.
