The Triple Diamond Z fold – easy and fun
If you love fun fold cards that look impressive without being overly complicated, today’s project is going to be right up your alley. This week I’m sharing a Triple Diamond Z Fold card design along with four completely different variations to show just how versatile this layout can be.
What I love most about this fold is that once you learn the basic structure, you can recreate it with almost any theme, paper collection, or stamp set in your stash. Elegant florals, playful character sets, bold graphic prints, seasonal cards — this layout works with all of them.

One Design – Four Versions
For this project, I created four different versions of the Triple Diamond Z Fold using embossing, designer series paper, layered die cuts, and embellishments to completely change the look and feel of the card.
The featured floral version uses the Paradise Garden bundle paired with a classic black-and-white color palette and pops of Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe. I also shared a butterfly version with soft embossed details, a Winnie the Pooh themed version with shimmer accents, and a bright Splash & Relax sample that would be perfect for summer crafting.
One of the things that makes this fold so fun is how customizable it is. You can emboss the diamond panels for extra texture, cover them with designer series paper, add layered die cuts, or keep the design simple and clean. The fold itself does most of the heavy lifting visually, which means even simple versions still look polished and impressive.
During the tutorial, I also shared one of my favorite adhesive tips for embossed cardstock. I always reach for multipurpose liquid glue on embossed pieces because tape runners can sometimes catch and tear the texture. Liquid glue is more forgiving – it gives you a little wiggle room to line everything up exactly where you want it.
And if you are someone who tends to save scraps of designer series paper because “they might be useful someday,” this fold is a fantastic way to actually use them. The diamond panels are perfect for showing off smaller paper patterns and leftover pieces that are too pretty to throw away. And don’t be afraid to use those scraps for die cuts, too. Small patterned pieces can create beautiful focal images and add even more interest and coordination to your card designs.

That makes it a great option when you want to create something special for birthdays, thinking of you cards, thank you cards, or even holiday projects without spending hours figuring out an overly complicated layout.
