Stunning 12×12 Mini Album with a Hidden Gift Card

This mini album was inspired by a project shared by Stampin’ Up! Field Success Manager Elizabeth Bellville at OnStage in March 2026. When I saw it, I knew I had to recreate it and share it with you.

If you’ve ever wanted a handmade project that feels impressive but is actually doable, this mini album is it. It starts with a single sheet of 12×12 paper and transforms into an interactive album with pockets, pull-out inserts, and even a hidden spot for a gift card.

And the best part? Once you understand the base, you can make it again and again with whatever paper and supplies you already have.

A Project That Does More Than One Thing

This isn’t just a mini album. It’s a gift, a card, and a keepsake all in one.

Inside this design, you’ll find:

  • Fold-out panels that create multiple surfaces
  • Pull-out inserts for notes or journaling
  • A pocket that can hold a gift card or small surprise
  • Plenty of space for photos or meaningful messages

That flexibility is what makes this project so useful. You can tailor it to fit the occasion instead of starting from scratch every time.

Built from One Sheet, Designed to Impress

The structure of this album comes from a simple series of score lines and cuts on a 12″ x 12″ piece of cardstock. Once those are in place, everything folds together to create the pockets and panels.

Order matters here. Scoring, cutting, folding, and assembling in the right sequence is what makes the design work cleanly.

A couple of things to keep in mind as you build:

  • Burnish your folds well so everything lines up
  • Be intentional with adhesive so pockets stay open
  • Keep layers light if you don’t want added bulk

Once the base is complete, the rest is just decorating to match your style.

Make It Your Own

This is where the fun really begins.

You can keep your album simple with just designer series paper, or step it up with stamping, die cuts, and embellishments. Add ribbon closures, journaling spots, or layered elements depending on how detailed you want to go.

Because the structure is already doing the heavy lifting, you don’t need to overcomplicate the design for it to look finished.
