Take Your Embossing to the Next Level
Last month on my Crafty Klock YouTube Channel I was all about getting back to basics. Dusting off some tried and true techniques to get you started (or out of a rut) with cardmaking. This month, I’m focusing on using embossing to elevate your cards to the next level!
This week on my video tutorial I demonstrated three easy techniques to help you take your embossing to the next level. Embossing on cardstock is a great way to give your cards and projects some texture and dimension. Now, with these quick and easy techniques, you can elevate dry embossing to the next level.
Let’s take a look at the cards I made during the tutorial. Each card featured dry embossing on different mediums – Designer Series Paper, aliminum foil, and cardstock covered with packing tape. Each medium gives the embossing just a different feel. Which one do you like best?

Try these techniques for yourself!
These techniques are quck and easy to master! When you are ready to try these for yourself, here are the measurements for the cards and a list of supplies used.
- 3 card bases 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ (21 cm x 14.8 cm scored at 10.5 cm)
- 3 pieces of Basic White 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm) for the inside of the cards
- 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper 5 1/4″ x 4″
- 1 piece of cardstock 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm) covered with aliminum foil
- 1 piece of cardstock 5 1/4″ x 2″ (14.3 cm x 5 cm) covered with packing tape
- Cardstock scraps for sentiment labels and focal points
