Beyond Stamps, Ink, & Paper

As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I adore all the products we sell. From top quality products to color coordination there is just so much to love! But – sometimes I want to add an element that isn’t available through Stampin’ Up! so I need to look to other sources.

Like you, I find most of the things I need on Amazon and I wanted to share my favorite products with you!

Craft Room Extras

As a crafter I love to add special elements and little surprises to my cards and 3D projects. Here are some of my favorites!

Wobbles! Wobbles are springs that you can use to add movement to elements on your card. They come in two sizes – mini and regular. If you’ve never used a wobble, do yourself a favor and get some today to start crafting with them. I guarantee they will bring a smile to all who see them.

Google eyes! Who doesn’t love google eyes? They can literally go on anything and everything! I once saw some on a rock on the side of the road – I laughed so hard when I saw that.

Adhesive Dots. This little velcro closures are perfect for 3D projects that need to open and close. I use them for my post it note covers

Small Round Magnets. If you need something a little sturdier than adhesive dots to hold a cover closed these round magnets are perfect.

Carl Cutter. This heavy duty rotary cutter is great for cutting several sheet of cardstock at one time. I use it all the time when preparing the card kits for my workshops and events.

Garage Door Window Magnets. These little beauties are the perfect size to fit in a stamp case to keep matching dies with the stamps.

Color Wheel. I use this when I need inspiration. It helps me pick colors that will work well together.

Video & Photo Equipment

A large part of what I do is video and written tutorials. Good lighting, a nice background, as well as a strong wifi signal are a must. Here’s what I use in my craft room.

Ring Light. Good lighting will make you look amazing. It’s also important to have the desk well lit so people can easily see what I am working on.

Phone Holder. Since I need both hands to work on the card or 3D project I am showing, a good phone stand it a must. No way to make the video without it!

Selfie Stick/Tabletop Tripod. I use this when I do an unboxing or need to take some profile pictures. Best of all it’s portable and fits in a purse or backpack.

WiFi Extender. Since my craft room is in the basement and my router is on the main floor a WiFi extender is a must. This boosts the signal so I know I have a strong signal for when I go live.

Background. Good pictures are a must for my written tutorials. I love using this background – make my photos look professional.

Light Up Card

Back in January, I co-hosted a Creative Retreat with Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from Australia and Canada. Some of the feedback we received indicated participants would like to learn how to make a light up card. So since our customers wanted to learn how make a light up card, I learned so I could teach it. To make a light up card you need these three produts – double sided copper foil tape, SMD 5050 LED lights, and button batteries.
