It’s all about the men today!
I don’t know if I planned it or it just happened as a coincidence but my Lesson@Lunch video is all about creating masculine cards which just so happens to be the theme for the Global Sweethearts Blog Hop which went live today!
Whether you believe in coincidence or not, today was all about using the beautiful Amazing Silhouettes stamp set to create a masculine card. I love the simpilicy of this set and I will be sad when this set retires on May 1st.
Why is it so hard to create masculine cards?
If you are anything like me you find it hard to create masculine cards. Why is that? Maybe it’s because most of the stamp sets I gravitate to are florals or whimsical – I’m just not sure. What I am sure of is the Amazing Silhouettes was perfect for creating a quick and easy masculine themed birthday card.

This card went together so quickly and easily. The tree silhouette is just beautiful in its simpilicity and really all you need. I did use the new cross hatch 3D embossing folder to add a little textural interest.
And maybe one for the women
So while the focus is on creating masculine cards, I couldn’t resist doing one for the ladies too with this set. Check out my spin on a more feminine card.

Measurements & Supplies
For this card I used a base of Soft Suede cardstock measuring 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. I used a 4′ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock for the inside and a piece of 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic White for the stamped image. – That’s it – so not a lot of supplies. I stamped the image and inside sentiment with Early Espresso ink and used a bit of the retiring Early Expresso Faux Suede Trim.
