One of the things I hear most often from stampers is, “I feel like I need more stuff.” More stamp sets. More dies. More everything.
Here’s the honest truth: most of us already have plenty. What we really need is fresh ideas for using what’s already on our craft table.
That’s exactly what I’m sharing today.
In my latest video, I took one Stampin’ Up! stamp set — With You in Mind — and used it to create five very different cards, ranging from super simple and beginner-friendly all the way up to more stepped-up designs with techniques and texture. The goal wasn’t to be fancy for the sake of fancy. The goal was to show how a sentiment-focused stamp set can be far more versatile than it looks at first glance.

In the video, I walk you through one of the cards step by step and then show the remaining four designs so you can see how far you can stretch a single stamp set with just a few smart changes.
Why the With You in Mind Stamp Set Works So Well
At first glance, With You in Mind looks pretty simple. You get four large sentiments — Happy Birthday, Best Wishes, Thank You, and Thinking of You — plus a handful of small images like a cupcake, flower, heart, star, and leaf.
But that simplicity is exactly what makes it powerful.
Because the images are solid and the sentiments are bold, this set is perfect for:
- Beginner stampers who want clean, successful results
- Experienced stampers who enjoy layering, masking, and texture
- Anyone who wants to make cards for a wide variety of occasions without switching stamp sets every five minutes
Card #1: Bright, Bold, and Still Simple
This birthday card uses a Coastal Cabana card base, paired with Petunia Pop and Lemon Lime Twist. It’s cheerful, modern, and a great reminder that bold color combinations don’t have to be complicated.
The cupcake image is stamped in two colors using a simple masking technique, which allows you to get a multi-colored image from a single solid stamp. I also colored basic rhinestones jewels with Stampin’ Blends so they perfectly match the cardstock — a small detail that makes a big difference.

Card #2: Soft and Beginner-Friendly
This thinking-of-you card is all about simplicity. Using Soft Sea Foam, Balmy Blue, and Petal Pink, this design keeps things clean and calm. One ink color, straightforward layers, and a touch of embossing for texture make it perfect for newer stampers or anyone who wants a quick win.
If you’re just getting back into crafting after a break, this style of card is a great place to start.

Card #3: DIY Patterned Paper
One of my favorite tricks is making my own patterned paper when I don’t have Designer Series Paper that fits the project. For this card, I used Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green, and Daffodil Delight to stamp repeated images and create a custom background.
This technique is especially handy when you want full control over your colors. If color combinations ever trip you up, try my Crafty Color Magic Tool, which takes the guesswork out of choosing colors.

Card #4: Make Three Cards at Once
This design uses a variation of the stack, cut, and shuffle technique. By layering three pieces of cardstock and cutting them apart, you can quickly create three coordinating cards in one go.
The color combo for this set was Crumb Cake, Misty Moonlight, and Pool Party, making it a great option when you need multiples for birthdays, thank you cards, or events.
If you’re short on time but still want handmade cards, this technique is a game changer.

Card #5: Stepped-Up with Banners and Texture
The final card features Gray Granite, Night of Navy, and Bubble Bath and includes a fun die-cut trick. By placing the top edge of your cardstock slightly off the banner die, you can create banners that are longer than the die itself.
Tone-on-tone stamping and embossing add depth without overwhelming the design, making this a great example of how to step up a simple layout.
