Splash of Sparkles Sneak Peek: 3 Quick Cards for January

Splash of Sparkles – the DSP you didn’t know you needed

The new year is right around the corner, and that means it’s time for a fresh workshop and a brand-new product to inspire your creativity. For January, I’ll be featuring the Splash of Sparkles Designer Series Paper—a new Online Exclusive releasing January 6. If you’re someone who enjoys cards that look like you spent hours on them (without actually spending hours on them), this paper is going to be your new favorite.

I built three different cards using Splash of Sparkles paired with the Banner Sayings stamp set. These designs are clean, modern, and—let’s be honest—they let the paper do the heavy lifting. There’s no shame in choosing supplies that make you look good with minimal fuss. If you’d like to grab these products when they’re released, you can always shop with me—my online store link is below and available 24/7.

Card 1: Simple Stunner

This first card is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants a polished look without a lot of steps. The holographic elements in the DSP do all the talking, and the Banner Sayings sentiment adds a clean focal point.

Measurements:

  • Card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ (21 cm x 14.8 cm scored at 10.5 cm)
  • Splash of Sparkles DSP layer: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm)
  • Inside Basic White: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm)
  • Scraps of Basic White and Bubble Bath for the banner punch

This card takes minimal stamping and still looks intentional and elegant. Perfect for thank-you cards, encouragement notes, or just-because mail.

If you like cards that are beginner-friendly but don’t look beginner-made, make sure you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel—I share step-by-step designs every week.

Card 2: Stacked Sentiments & Dual-Sided DSP

The second design is a favorite for showing off both sides of the DSP. I used three staggered banners and a small fun fold to let the holographic layer shine.

Measurements:

  • Card base: 5 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ scored at 1″ (14.8 cm x 13 cm scored at 2.5 cm)
  • Splash of Sparkles DSP front panel: 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ (14.8 cm x 10.5 cm)
  • Inside Basic White: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm)
  • Scraps of Basic White for the banner punch

This layout is perfect for thank-you cards or any occasion where you want to pack in multiple sentiments. And yes, sometimes the DSP backside doesn’t play nicely with the front—that’s real crafting. Choosing the right orientation is part of the fun.

Card 3: The “K-Fold” Celebration Card

The third design uses a quick fold technique that shows off the DSP while creating a natural spot for embellishment. I call it the “K-Fold” because, well, it looks like the letter K—no need to overcomplicate it.

Measurements:

  • Card base: 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ (21 cm x 14.8 cm scored at 10.5 cm)
  • Splash of Sparkles DSP layer: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm), slit halfway at 2 5/8″ (6.6 cm)
  • Circles: 1 7/8″, 1 3/4″, 1 1/2″ (4.8 cm, 4.4 cm, 3.8 cm)
  • Inside panel: 5 1/4″ x 4″ (14.3 cm x 10 cm)
  • Scraps of Gold Foil, Shy Shamrock, Timid Tiger and Basic White for the circle and banner punches

This card is bold and bright—great for birthdays, celebrations, or any milestone. The holographic sparkles practically scream confetti.

And if you want to recreate this project exactly—or take advantage of the Online Exclusives when they launch—you can always shop with me. I appreciate every order, and my customers know I take service seriously.
