LIVE! On You Tube

I’ve been toying with the idea of doing some tutorials for my You Tube channel – Crafty Klock – but just never seemed to find the time (and OK I was scared to death to try it!). Well it’s amazing what a little “Stay at Home” time can do. I finally took the plunge and did my first tutorial. I’m not going to lie – it’s rough but it’s a start. My goal – for now – is to try to do two a month. Hopefully as time goes on I will smooth out the rough edges and get better at it. Something Old/Something New

This old saying isn’t just for weddings.  I love it when I can take my “old” craft supplies and pair them with something new!  I absolutely love Stampin’ Up’s Tropical Chic stamp set – it’s just a fun, happy design and who couldn’t use a little fun and happy right now?  I also like Stampin’ Up’s new Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper (DSP) and so I decided to pair my “old” stamp set with the “new” DSP.  I also love making fancy fold cards that look difficult but are secretly very easy (SHHHH!  Don’t tell anyone).  This fun double gatefold card is sure to impress your family and friends. Simply Scored

Snail Adhesive

Mint Macaron 1/8” sheer linen ribbon

Paper Snips

Measurements:

Card base  – Grapefruit Grove cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½ and scored at 2 1/8 and 6 1/8  

1st Layer – 2 pieces Mint Macaron cardstock cut to 4 x 2 ½

2nd Layer – 2 pieces Tropical Oasis DSP cut to 3 ¾ x 2 ¼

Scrap of Whisper White cardstock for sentiment

Scrap of Mint Macaron cardstock for leaf

12 inches of ribbon

Optional – 4 x 5 ¼ piece of Whisper White cardstock for inside of card

Instructions:

1:  Fold cardbase along score lines; use paper bone to crease

2:  Adhere DSP to 4 x 2 ½ card stock; repeat for 2nd strip

3:  Attach one strip to upper left of card base; Attach one strip to bottom right of card base

4:  Stamp sentiment in Grapefruit Grove on scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punch using Pretty Label punch.  Optional:  roll edge of punched label on ink pad to add a touch of color.  Adhere to upper left of card front with Stampin dimenstionals

5:  Tie ribbon in a bow and attach over top of label with glue dot

6:  Stamp leaf in Mint Macaron on scrap of Mint Macaron cardstock.  Use matching die to cut out or fussy cut with paper snips.  Adhere to bottom right of card front with Stampin dimensionals

7:  Optional – adhere a 4 x 5 ¼ piece of Whisper White card stock to inside of card.  Stamp along left edge with one of the background stamps from the Tropical Chic stamp set

Why join?

Hello Friends – it’s been a while since I have posted but I wanted to take this opportunity to explain a bit more about purchasing the Starter Kit and signing up to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.

  • Do you get a feeling of dread when the option to purchase the starter kit is offered to you?
  • Do you avoid making eye contact when joining Stampin’ Up! is mentioned? 
  • Are thinking “Ugh – I don’t want to listen to this now!”

Well I get it! I was the same way until I took the time to really understand what it is all about.

Purchasing the starter kit is about getting the best deal out there with absolutely no further obligations.  Yes you read that correctly – purchase of the starter kit does not come with any strings attached!

So why purchase it?  At the bare minimum, it is $125 in product for $99 (plus tax), a 20% discount over catalog prices, with a continuing 20% discount through your first full quarter.  So, if you plan to purchase at least $75 or more in product or want all the freebies that come with the starter kit during Sale-a-Bration, it is so worth it.

After the initial purchase of the starter kit, you have a few options:

  1. Enjoy the products you purchased at a discount and call it good
  2. Use your ongoing 20% discount through the end of June – no strings
  3. Stay on as a hobby demonstrator. These demonstrators (which I was for a long time) purchase their products using their discounts, maybe hold a class once in a while to assist with meeting their quarterly minimum of $300 or maybe have a friend or family member who orders from them so they can craft together 
  4. Earn extra money by creating your very own small business.  This is great for stay-at-home moms, retirees, or anyone who is looking for a little something income
