As we celebrate the founding of the United States of America today I wanted to take this opportunity to give a shout out to all our service members – past, present, & future – who put love of country above themselves. It is because of your selfless dedication to duty that I am able to have the freedom to pursue my passions and my dreams.
Our service members give up so much to protect the freedoms we so often take for granted. Today, while we celebrate with family and friends at parades, picnics, BBQs, concerts, and fireworks please remember those service members who are away from their family and friends today. Take a moment to give thanks for them and pray for their safety.
To the members of our military – I appreciate you, I support you, and I thank you. May God Bless you and may God continue to bless America!
When I attended Stampin’ Up!’s April On Stage event I received the Wildly Happy stamp set for a prize patrol. I was so excited as I though the set was just adorable. Fast forward three months and I am finally in my workshop playing with this set and oh my! Do I love this set.
Each month Stampin’Up! has a #simplestamping challenge and this month the challenge was to highlight some of the new Designer Series Paper (DSP). I had been thinking about the Wildly Happy stamp set and how it would pair so well with the new 2019-2021 In Colors . I knew this #simplestamping challenge was the perfect time to execute my concept! Panda’s paired with Pretty Peacock, foxes with Terracotta Tile, bunnies with Rococo Rose, and elephants with Seaside Spray. Add in the matching cardstock, ink, and DSP and Voila! Four adorable cards perfect for all stampers.
Take a look at my cards. You can order your own stamp set, ink pads, and paper through my online store. And if you order now, for every $50 spent in July you will receive a $5 bonus coupon to use in August. Happy Stampin’.

So I’m back from vacation, ready to jump back into my business and right out of the gate I had two setbacks that made me a little sad. First- I had to cancel my Stampin’ Bingo event for June 22nd as no one registered to come. Bummer! It would have been such a fun evening. Not sure what I could have done differently but I will keep trying. Silver Lining – now I am registered for the Unicorn Festival at Hogback Mountain Pony Rides in Leesburg, VA. Here’s hoping this event is well attended and gives my little business a big boost! Life handed me lemons so I’m gonna make some delicious lemonade! I even designed a special Unicorn Birthday card for the Swag Bags!
Next, my monthly card class was scheduled for June 16, which I realize was Father’s Day but I figured – what the hey – let’s go for it. Three people were scheduled to come so I prepped card kits for six people (8 cards x 6 people equals 48 cards prepped and ready to go) – you know in case someone brought a friend. Well guess what? YUP – all no shows. One person at least has the decency to text to say she was sick. Thank you – I appreciate that little courtesy. The other two people just ghosted – no call, no text, no email. Just a little rude but ok maybe they were raised with different values. On the upside, I was able to go pick up my dog from the groomer when he was done and got to take a nice drive through the country on a beautiful, sunny day. I will save the six card kits for July’s class – hopefully I will have people who will actually attend. More lemonade (and maybe even some yummy lemon bars)!
The cards for my June Class were all created using the new Perennial Essence Suite. You can order the Perennial Essence Suite here. Take a look at the cards I created with this suite and see below for details on how to make these cards. Remember – no matter how many lemons life hands you can always make something yummy – just stay positive!
