Ok I’ll admit it – I am the crazy dog lady – after all I have five! I love all my fur babies and the joy they bring on a daily basis. So when I saw the new Playful Pets Product Suite in the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! annual catalog I just KNEW I had to get it. The Suite includes everything you see in the picture and you can order it with just one item code – #154136 or you can order each item separately. Check out my online store for more information.

Playful Pets Product Suite includes the Pampered Pets Stamp Set and matching dies, Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack and Playful Pets Trinkets

While the product suite is perfect for casual and avid stampers, beginning stampers can also have a lot of fun with just the stamp set, card stock, and designer series paper. Check out this cute card I made just using stamps, ink, and paper. It’s #simplestamping at its best!

The new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog has ten new Product Suites that make it so easy to create beautiful projects. The color coordination is one of the hallmarks of the Stampin’ Up! product line. From inks to paper to embellishments, it’s so easy to successfully create stunning one of a kind cards and gifts. One of my new favorites is the Peony Garden Suite (#154129; $97.50). The Suite features the Prized Peony Stamp Set, Peony dies, Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, Square Vellum Doilies, Elegant Faceted Gems, Gray Granite 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon, and Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder.

Peony Garden Suite

This elegant suite of products is geared to the avid crafter but beginning stampers can also create lovely simple stamping cards with this beautiful stamp set. Using just stamps, ink and paper you can create a simple yet elegant card as shown below

#simplestamping

This card was created with just two stamps and a few layers of paper. The card base is an 8 1/5″ x 5 1/5″ piece of Gray Granite card stock scored at 4 1/4″. The first layer is a piece of 4 x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic Gray card stock. The final layer is a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper. The images are stamped in Basic Gray ink. More avid crafters can step it up with die cuts and embellishments as shown below.

This card has a 8 1/5″ x 5 1/5″ Petal Pink card base (scored at 4 1/4″). The Basic Gray layer (4″ x 5 1/4″) has been embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing folder. A 2′ x 4″ piece of Peony Garden Designer Series Paper adds a pop of color as does a touch of the Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon. The sentiment was die cut using the Stitched so Sweetly dies and stamped in Old Olive ink. The peony flower was die cut in Petal Pink and colored with a sponge dauber and Blushing Bride ink. The center was die cut from Bumblebee card stock and the leaves area combination of Old Olive and Garden Green. You can check out my video tutorial here. Beyond Papercrafting

Just a few weeks ago my Stampin’ Up! order was delivered. For some reason, I included a package of window sheets in my order. Window sheets are a great resource for making shaker cards, which really aren’t my favorite type to make. I put the order away and forgot about the window sheets which I knew I most likely won’t use – at least not any time soon.

One day, as I ‘m watching the news I keep hearing these inspirational stories of people who are sewing face masks or using 3D printers to print PPE and I thought to myself I wish I could do something to help. Suddenly – I had a light bulb moment – I have a sewing machine, some bias binding and WINDOW SHEETS! I bet I can make a face shield with those!

So I grabbed my sewing machine, my bias binding and my window sheets. It took a little bit of trial and error but I think I figured it out. The window sheets come in 12″ x 12″ sheets, which I trimmed down to 7″ x 12″, I sewed some bias binding along one 12″ edge and used my detailed trio punch to round the corners of the (now) bottom 12″ edge. And voila! A face shield that can be donated to those working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you want to make some you can order the window sheets here. The sheets are sold in a package of 2 for $5. Let’s see how many we can make to help those who are doing so much to help us! Happy crafting!
