4 Color Combos – Mix & Match Old & New

New Colors – New Combos!

With the release of the new 2023-2024 Annual catalog today, Stampin’ Up! gave us 16 new colors to play with; five in In Colors, and 11 new core colors to refresh the current color families. With so many new colors to choose from, the possibilites are endless!

Where to begin…

While all these new colors to use, it may seem daunting to figure out which one will pair well together. If you are not sure of where to start or how to figure out which colors will play well with each other, I suggest getting a color wheel. This handy little tool is a great way to figure out which colors work well together.

I got mine color wheel on Amazon and you can order one just like it through my affiliate link (Note: I may receive a small commission from each sale made through my affilaite link). Click here to order your wheel today.

Let the fun begin!

Today for my Lesson@Lunch video I had fun playing with four different color combos. Let’s take a look at each one.

Combination 1 – Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie and Wild Wheat.

This is a combination I probably would not have put together but somehow it works. Both Pecan Pie and Wild Wheat have orange tones in them. Orange and Blue are complementary colors which is why this combo works.

Combination 2 – Boho Blue, Blueberry Bushel, and Pebbled Path

This is an easy almost monochromatic combination to put together since Boho Blue and Blueberry Bushel are shades of blue. One with a little more gray mixed in and one with a little more red or blue/violet mixed in. Pebbled Path is one of the lighter tones on the gray scale and thus as a neutral color, it would work with almost anything.

Combination 3 – Bubble Bath, Moody Mauve, and Blackberry Bliss

This would be considered an analogous color scheme since red and purple are next to each other on the wheel. Bubble Bath is a very light pink, meaning it has lot of white in it while mauve falls between pink and purple on the color wheel.

Combination 4 – Sweet Sorbet, Lost Lagoon, and Pretty Peacock

I like this combination alot! Both Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock have shades of green in them, which is why they work well with Sweet Sorbet as red and green are complimentary colors. Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock blend together beautifully and the Sweet Sorbet add just the right pop of color.
