As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp I am ready to welcome Fall! I love the crunch of leaves underfoot and watching as the trees put on a show, turning their leaves glorious shades of red, orange, yellow, and brown. So, while I initially bypassed the lovely Soft Seedlings stamp set and Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder, it captured my attention as the seasons started to change.
In fact, I became so enamoured with the stamp set and embossing folder, I decided to use them as the focus of my upcoming October Workshop. I’ve had a blast designing with the Soft Seedlings stamp set and Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder. While the stamp set may appear to be simple images and sentiments, there are so many techniques you can use to add a little pizzazz to your design.
One of my favorite techniques to use is the baby wipe technique. If you are not familiar with this technique it’s fairly simple to do. You’ll need baby wipes, ink refills, and a largeish, flat, plactic surface (to prevent the wipes from getting your work surface wet) – our Silicone Craft Sheet is perfect for protecting your work Surface.
Here’s how to create using the baby wipe technique:
- Take a baby cloth or two and fold in half
- Add some drops of ink to the baby wipes
- When you have the colors you want on your baby wipe tap your stamp over the inked section of the baby wipe (don’t press too hard – gently tap the stamp on the baby wipe)
- Apply the inked stamp to your cardstock.
The results are just beautiful as you can see on the sample below. I love the verigated colors in the stamped image.
This is just one of the four cards we will be making in my October Workshop. Registration for my workshop, which closes on October 10th, is open to U.S. Residents only. You can register for my upcoming workshop here. I offer both virtual (via Zoom) and in-person workshops. Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter to stay up-to-date on my events and special offers.
